Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Should I be worried?

DD is usually a good sleeper, but she was up crying several times last night. We were out of town, so we figured she just wasn't comfortable in the pack n play. She was fussy on and off today, which we attributed to lack of sleep.

However, we're home now and she's in her bed tossing, turning and whining. She didn't eat much dinner tonight, which is really unusual for her. She has no other symptoms.

She did say "teeth" earlier, which made us think it's teething. But, then I read that teething doesn't cause these symptoms.

Any ideas?

Re: Should I be worried?

  • When my son is teething bad he hardly eats a thing and is very fussy/wakes during the night off and on. Sounds like teeth, I'm sure LO will be fine in a couple days and have some new teeth poking through!

  • It doesn't sound like anything to worry about. Sounds like change in routine and maybe some teething too. DS never sleeps well on trips, and the lack of routine causes a lot of other changes like random fussiness and picky or no eating.
  • I agree with the pps. Could possibly be teething but in addition to that if she got overtired it may take a couple days to get back to normal. My DD is SO sensitive to lack of sleep and she suffers when she doesn't get enough with all the symptoms you mentioned

  • "they" claim teething doesn't cause like any of the symptoms that every mother of a teething baby/toddler will attest to.  I wouldn't be worried, sounds like it's either her teeth or just the change in routine.

  • That sounds like our experience with the 2 year molars coming in.  They're awesome.
