  • I would call early intervention. They can help.

I plan on it tomorrow, I guess I was just looking for some techniques before they come. I did call them a month ago and they would not help me until I saw my doctor. Well I have seen my doctor now so hopefully they will not give me an issue.

If he can tolerate the puff texture I would try some of the veggie puffs you know the gerber Cheetos lol and if he can chew that alternate with the pures. For feeding therapy DD is almost 2 has similar oral issues, issues swallowing/choking our therapist suggested that if you alternate textures in the same sitting they do better/ear more because it is not the same thing in their mouth over and over.

She also told me to try and chew chicken 20 times before swallowing and see how liked it lol, she did have a point!
  • I have no experience, but just an idea until someone helps you. Can you add carnation instant breakfast or something similar to his milk? It has lots of vitamins. I use it sometimes when my DS is being picky.
  • It sounds like your LO may have oral motor issues. If you have any issues qualifying for EI, have him assessed by an Occupational Therapist who works with feeding issues.

If you google "Oral motor feeding" you should also find some exercises online. Just be careful to not push foods he struggles with too much or you may end up creating some food aversions.
