I love this name for a girl. It is Israeli/Hebrew and I know two little Noas and they are adorable. In my community, it is a great girl name but if it is not familiar in your community, it may be thought that you are usurping a boys name

I didn't specify because I was curious what the assumption would be. I didn't forget the H. Like PPs said Noa without the H is a traditional girl name...I think it has actually been a top 5 girl name in Israel the last five years. But it sounds like it will be misinterpreted a lot. Sigh.
I think it's a beautiful name for a girl. However, there are so many boys named Noah that people will probably think she's a boy and that you misspelled his name!

I agree! Since it's the same pronunciation, it sounds masculine to me, even though I know it's a real name.
Absolutely love it. It was on the table when we were naming DD. I always know the response the name will get when it's brought up on TB though. I find it fascinating that people are so fond of Irish names, with traditional, Gaelic spelling here, but Noa is met with such odd reactions. OP, keep in mind the geographic population of TB; I think it's significant when reading responses.

I believe this is a Hebrew/Jewish name, with biblical references.
I personally don't care for it. It looks like an incomplete "Noah"

Do not do this if it's for a girl. Noah is masculine; Noa is feminine.
I think a girl named Noa would be mistaken for a boy a lot (over the phone, mail, etc...). Actually, I know it's true. I know a Noa.
