Inspired off Grant's mom's post. (Sorry can't remember your name. . .)
A lot of you said you used the ergo for hip or back carry. I have one too.
1. Any tips for the hip carry- It always seems a little akward to me.
2. Can you do the back carry alone. The only time I've gotten it to work was when both H and I were together.
Thanks!
Re: Ergo hip and back carry
If I'm wearing Aria on my hip, leave the main stap buckled and just slip it over my head. It's a lot easier [imo] than trying to reach around and buckle everything. So, I buckle the waist, then twist it to the side I want her on. [the left, for the purpose of this example] I already have the right side shoulder strap buckled to the bottom strap on the left. Then I sit Aria on my hip and tug the ergo up behind her. I slip the buckled strap over both of our heads, putting my left arm through. Then all I have to do is buckle the unneeded strap around my side. [under my right arm]
If I am putting Aria on my back solo, I have to do it sitting down. I snap the ergo around my waist, sit down, and put Aria behind me. I pull her arms around my neck, and hold her hands with one hand, while using the other to pull that side's strap over my shoulder. Then I switch hands and pull the other side's strap up.
It does take a minute or two of wriggling around after clipping everything before we both feel comfortable, no matter how many times I've done it.
ETA: yeah... This is confusing. Just check out YouTube. It's a lot easier to understand! Haha!

This is inspring me to get our Ergo out again. DS really really HATED it as an infant. He loved the ring sling though, and DH and I both wore him until he walked.
