another ear tubes question

DD's 2 year molars are starting to come in so her gums are swollen and she's been in some pain so I gave her a dose of motrin before bed. Then I remembered ibuprofen is on the list of meds to not take for 7 days before surgery and she's getting tubes put in on Wednesday...anyone deal with anything like this before? Did you end up having to reschedule? Obviously I'm going to let them know that I gave it to her but since it's a holiday weekend they're not in the office until the day before surgery...I did call the office yesterday with a couple questions and before we hung up the lady told me they're closed all weekend but there is someone on call if I have any other questions...would you call over the weekend in this case?

I work in a Peds Same Day Surgery department where we do tubes all the time.  I would highly doubt they make you reschedule, but some surgeons really don't like Ibuprofen prior to any surgery due to the chance of it thinning out their blood.  That being said, it's a pretty old school mentality that many are getting away from, and we even give Ibuprofen to our postoperative Tonsillectomies.

I'd let them know on Tuesday, but don't stress too much.  One dose will not make a huge difference, especially in a procedure that is so low risk for bleeding anyways.

Thanks for the response. I actually did decide to call the on call line...the dr. called me back and said there's no problem with her taking motrin before getting tubes since there's typically very minimal bleeding with them...he said he would be concerned if she was getting her tonsils or adenoids removed or something like that.
