Hello mommies!!! ![]()
My 2nd LO is due in about 6 weeks. I plan to breastfeed as I did with my 1st child. However, due to the issues I experienced with breastfeeding my first (could not wean till 20 mths, used as a pacifier and for sleep, could not get a babysitter, sleep in crib, etc), I am hoping to mainly pump and feed through a bottle...maybe not right away but after a few weeks, month, however long...
I definitely do not want to cause nipple confusion but I also do not want to go through the same difficulties as before ( I learned my lesson)!! But I am extremely for breastfeeding and do want my new LO to get the benefit of it. So.....
If I get to breastfeed and pump....and for some reason I have to use formula for substituting if my pumping is not working out right etc....what is a good formula to use? I know of all the different brands but I have never had to use any so I was just curious as to which works best for your LO?
Thank you! Oh & please wish me luck on my second round of breastfeeding! ![]()
Re: Formula Recommendation
Since you're only looking to suppliment, you won't go through much at all, so I'd suggest signing up at the Enfamil site and Similac. Usually you'll end up getting a couple small containers in the mail shortly after. I started DS on Similac Sensitive (one of the freebies I got) and then once he was fully on formula when I went back to work, I switched him over to Target's Up & Up brand (sensitive formula) since it was more economical.
Firstly, good luck!
As for formula, it really comes down to which agrees best with your LO. Like PP said, I would sign up on the Enfamil and Similac websites for freebies, but we really like the Similac Sensitive. I haven't tried the Target brand yet but plan to try it to save money since it's exactly the same as the brand name.
i agree it's up to your baby. We recieved a sample of enfamil and similac then bought a small thing of gerber. He definitely hates gerber and similac and is perfectly fine with enfamil. But I know people who's babies love those brands so its up to baby
