Rise and Shine

Prior to going away on vacation, P woul wake up anytime between 6:30 and 8. While we were away, he would wake up at 5:30 every morning. Well, now that we are home, he's still up at 5:30!!! Since he's up at the asss crack of dawn, I have to give him 2 naps. Are we doomed or will he get back on track?

Re: Rise and Shine

  • I feel your pain!  DD was up at 5am and has been doing so for the past couple weeks.  I think eventually your DS will get back on track- it might just take a weeks or so.  Hope he get back to sleeping later soon!

  • With Alastair we had that problem after he was sick. We took one hellish day of only one nap and a bit of an earlier bedtime and he woke up a little later. From then, he slowly adjusted back to his normal schedule.

  • He's killing me. I had to put him down already for a nap because he was turning into a major jerk. Ugh!!

LOL!!!  At least he'll give you two naps, C would never stand for that.  He'd just sit and sob.

We had this problem with G for a while. Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child recommends putting the kid to bed earlier than usual for four nights, and that may fix it. It worked for us, he went from 5:30 back to either 6:30 or 7 depending on the day, which is much more acceptable.

I love this book! I followed it loosely since P was 8 weeks old. Thanks, I will check it out.
