I'm sick. I'm bored. I have a sleeping baby so I'm ripping off a thread I saw on another site.
How often do you use paper plates? I was shocked at the amount of people that said they use them daily. We pretty much just use them for camping and parties. I make enough trash without adding plates to the pile.
Re: Paper Plates
Camping and parties only.
Good to see you post here!

It's only because I'm sick! Smiley face.
Same here. And I'm glad you posted this because I totally forgot to put paper plates on the list for our race party on Sunday.
Yay I came in handy!
We used to use them daily (along with plastic utensils & cups) then we decided to stop buying them to save money. That lasted a few months. Now about every 3 weeks or so we get tired of the constant pile of dishes and buy a pack and use them til they're gone.

I'm sorry you're sick, friend!
We only buy them for parties, and then we mainly use the extras for picnics.
Almost never. Just for parties and for craft/paint holding.
I'm confused as to why people would use them more often than that.
Fewer dishes. Some of us are lazy.

Only when I don't have enough real plates for everyone, so just parties. Oh and play dates Bc kids and breakables are always a bad idea.
For some reason I bought a Costco size package of paper plates. 2 years later, we're still working our way through it.
Yep, this. Wife of the year right here. We use paper plates daily in my house!
This.
Though my neighbor uses ONLY paper plates, cups, and disposable silverware unless his dad is coming over. Then he uses the 3 plates, bowls and cups he owns.

And when we are sick.
I buy theme dessert plates for the kids' birthday parties for apps and cake. We use regular plates for meals at gatherings.
I had no idea some people used paper plates every day. I can't wrap my head around it.
I gave up on the post I jacked this from on page 26. It's a very hot button topic.
There's a 26 page thread about paper plates? If they just ate pouches, there would be no need for plates at all. Where can I find this lovely gem?

Even camping. I mean, who wants to haul around enough paper plates, cups & utensils for a week? Very not packing or portage friendly.
Large backyard bbq or kids party, yeah but otherwise....NO.
I can't wrap my brain around this either. It seems akin to throwing away your underwear and buying new ones every time instead of washing them. I feel like washing dishes, like laundry and a host of other chores, is just a part of life...
This makes me feel much better about what I thought was my excessive paper towel use, though.
