DS' speech therapist is getting married next month. I've talked about it very briefly on a few occasions. DS likes her but it's definitely more of a professional relationship than a personal one.
I plan on having DS make a card for her but I'm not sure if we should get her a gift. It would be a gift card. Would it be weird to give her a gift?
DS has been seeing her for about 6-7 months.
Re: Would you give a gift?
I think either way is fine. I don't think she would take it as weird--at least I wouldn't. The only thing I see is there is a chance she may not be able to accept it. Mental health professionals often can't accept gifts unless they are very small. But a speech therapist is obviously different so it may not be an issue.
If it were me, if I really liked her, I might do it. But if you feel weird about it, then I think the card is a lovely gesture.

I thought about that too. I have no idea if she'd be able to accept it and then it might put her in awkward situation where she would have to return it.
