road trip!

so have any of you ladies taken LO on a road trip yet? we are in the chicago suburbs and driving down to southern missouri to see DH's family for a family reunion... its a 6 hour drive and i am soooo nervous about driving this far. were hoping to leave very early in the morning so by the time LO would normally wake up we wouldnt be to far away. i hope he is in a good mood this weekend.. LO has never seen any of this side of the family yet.

on another note..... NEVER did i ever imagine how much stuff i would be packing to take with me for him lol!!!

    We did 3 hrs when DD was 2 months old and she slept the entire way. We are doing 3 this weekend and the weejend after. I'm praying they go as well as the last time!

    We did 13 hours at 2 months. We broke it up into 2 days, but it wasn't bad.

    DH also commented on the stuff. When 2 comes along, a minivan will be our first purchase!
    After 22 months TTC and the loss of our identical twins at 10w6d, we're excited about our rainbow baby!

    We just returned from 4 hr road trip to New Hampshire...DS was fabulous!
    However, I totally overpacked. Only wore half the outfits and used one quarter of the diapers.
    And the best advice I can give is "go with the flow". Be prepared to stop numerous times. Traveling with a toddler that had to get his energy out and a baby that eats every one and half to two hours means the agenda has to be flexible.

    We drove 11 hours when DD was 2 months because my FIL passed away so we were driving to go to his funeral. It was really easy and I was nervous for no reason!

    ETA: I'm flying from TN to CA with DD in July and TERRIFIED! I EP so that just adds even more anxiety.
