One of my friends is letting me borrow her pump. My mother-in-law already bought the one I registered for, but I'm considering using my friend's pump (after I buy new attachments for it). My question is does anyone know how long these pumps usually last? She nursed her first child on it for about 8 months and then Medela sent her a replacement pump when it started acting funny. So she only used it about 6 months with her second. My fear is that if I return the new one, then something will happen to the used one. I think the warranty on them is only a year, so I wouldn't be able to get a replacement. Any thoughts?
Re: Medela pump in style
IMO on the 2nd hand pump....just get all new attachments and tubing and return the new one. Use that money for something else!!!
If you give someone else your pump, the warranty is invalid (it says so on the sticker when you get the pump). I would just use the one you got from your MIL...Not sure if you have insurance, but you should check with them to see what they cover (unless you've already opened the new one your MIL got you; then you can't return it).
