I'm am bfing my 14 month old. I'm still taking my prenatals but do I also need to take dha? I've been taking it but wondering if I should reorder since I'm low.
I'm not sure what is recommended but I'm still taking it too. I'd ask your doctor or maybe even LO's pediatrician about it. We are TFAS so I feel like its probably just best for me to continue taking everything to be safe.

I highly doubt a pediatrician will know, they barely know anything about breastfeeding newborns, let alone a toddler.
I don't believe this to be true, my pedi knew quite a bit and I think they should. I don't know why your pedi doesn't know about breastfeeding - it benefits the child.

that's interesting. my ped,was in the hospital, when my LO born, and the first thing that she said to me was to breastfeeding until my LO turn 6 months old but it's better if can do it until one year, she also told me to continuing taking my prenatal vitamins until I stop breastfeeding.specially if I'm planing to get pregnant again.

Oh sure, they know it's best, but I've not heard of most pedis knowing too much more than that. A lactation consultant knows far more. Heck, I usually know way more.
I think what it boils down to is that it depends on the pediatrician. Some are more knowledgeable about BFing than others. Our ped has a wife that is a lactation consultant and a LLL leader, so he's always got someone to defer to if he can't immediately answer my question. It was just a suggestion to ask, I think it would be apparent whether or not they knew enough to help or not. I always say, no harm in asking.
