Jello....constipation

So, had my 9wk appt yesterday all looks great and I asked for help regarding constipation seeing it has now been 11 days and I have tried fiber laxatives, stool softener, milk of magnesium, miralax, apple juice...... Well, he didn't seem to care much that I was going on 11 day I eat tons of fruits and veggies and drink a ton of wateralways been healthy for the most part so he said drink jello, an entire package or sugar jello, no sugar free.... So, I did. Talk about so nasty, not only was I so full, I wanted to puke, had to DRINK an extra 400 calories AND still didn't go..... Followed by gaining 2lbs this morning.....Now what??

Sorry for the rant ladies!

  • Yuck - that sounds disgusting and like it wouldn't help.

Though I do want to make real jello now... :-)

  • I want Jell-o now, too!!!

Try nuts.  Almonds or sunflower seeds work best for me.  I NEVER go.  It's just not in my DNA, but nuts almost always seem to work.  It may take a couple of days of eating them, but it's worth a shot!  If not, then good protein for you and baby!

  • I offered to make the jello and just eat the entire bowl but he didn't go for that idea lol!

I love almonds ill have to try those!

It's not in my DNA either I struggled with it before pregnancy now it's just a few times worse!!

Glycerin suppositories. I was having a lot of trouble a couple weeks back and my OB recommended them if nothing else worked. They absolutely DO work [in just a few minutes!] and it is safe for baby. Check with your doctor, but there is no need to suffer that long...GL!

  • Oh God that sounds horrendous. Why would he think that would be a good idea? You're just going to make yourself more full haha. Strange! I thought I'd want jello after reading this post, but dang it, nope. Not because of what you said, I was just thinking hmmm maybe that'll sound good, but the more I thought about it, it just sounds bad. Just jiggling around in my mouth and stomach doesn't sound like a good idea right now!

I cannot recall where I read it this morning, if it was a post on here or where, but I read that Coconut oil can be helpful. Not sure how much to take, but I think I'm willing to try it. :)

  • I have a friend who SWEARS by McDonald's. Haha, it's so salty, and so greasy that when she has their fries she's ready to go in an hour. I haven't tried it yet because MD isn't my favorite, but it's ridiculous how well she says it works xD

  • Fiber cereals with warm milk help me. Prunes help out a lot too.

I was actually going to make jello for my DS this morning.

  • Try coconut milk. It's a natural laxitive.

My kid gets severely constipated (we've had to take him to the ER) and now what works for us after a few days of no BM is giving him glycerin suppositories. I know it's weird, but it works.

  • You guys are the best! I'm gonna try it all.... Suppositories being my last resort haha! Raisin bran sounds amazing an with coconut milk I might be good to go! I used to do coffee and it would help, about every 34 days at least but ever since I got pregnant coffee has tasted so terrible I can't stomach it!

I tried prunes and even prune juice, I loved prunes as a kid, not so much as an adult lol!

And food, I feel if I eat something terrible and it doesn't get things moving just how terrible I'd feel so I'm trying to be careful!

For you ladies who thought jello, what the hell!?!! I said the same thing when my ob told me that, supposedly the sugar helps pull water to your intestines??? I probably should have done more research before the horrible attempt to down it because it did more harm than good!
