Nolan has been biting like crazy lately. He doesn't bite other children or his dad, just me and it is driving me crazy. Does anyone else have a biter? If so, any suggestions? There are bruises up and down both my arms
Aria has bitten me a few times. I think it was a combination of being tired, teething (stupid freaking molars) and frustration. (because, you know, I'm the meanest mommy ever ever ever for not letting her stick her hands in the mixer while my sister was making icing!)
When she bites me, I immediately pull her away, say "NO. That's mean and hurts mommy.", sit her down and walk away. It seems to have helped, the instances of her biting me have gotten fewer and far between. (maybe once a week now, if she's really tired and frustrated)
ETA: When I sit her down, it's obviously in a baby-safe area. I don't ignore her, but I do walk a few steps away and wait there for a minute or two. Usually, she'll walk over to me and give me a hug. I think it's her way of saying she's sorry.
I have a biter!! Luckily he hasn't bitten anyone but me and DH. He does it when he gets excited or really frustrated. I usually pull him away, say "look at mommy", and then I say "no bite, that hurts mommy." No luck with that way yet hoping to see some ideas too!!
We are dealing with this as well. DD has been biting at daycare but not at home so I feel like it's so hard to address. The teacher told me to watch for her biting her stuffed animals or dolls and to say "No"
They said that she clearly does it out of frustration or to get her way. She hasn't bitten anyone since Monday but she tried twice yesterday. Apparently she bit my MIL 3 times on Saturday too while she was babysitting.
I really hope that we are able to stop this before she becomes "that kid" at daycare.

I started doing 1-2-3 magic with Nolan. I know he is a little young, but I need to do something because the biting is out of control! He seems to understand the warnings though. Putting him down when he is biting won't work because he usually bites me when I am wiping his hands, putting on his shoes, or something else and getting down would be a reward! Silly kids!!!
