Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Linea Nigra sticking around

So I still have a vertical line on my stomach from when I was pregnant.  It's shrunken and is more faint but still there! I kind of thought it would be gone 6 months postpartum.  anyone else?

Re: Linea Nigra sticking around

  • Mine it still there and is still pretty dark, at least in comparison to my pasty-white, Irish skin =) My mom reminded me that as the rest of my body seems to have returned to pre-baby shape so quickly, my line is my Mommy-badge and something to be proud of.

I was hoping it would be gone by bathing suit season but its looking like a one-piece this summer for me. I'm just not up to showing that off...

Same here! I actually lost all the baby weight pretty quickly so I was looking forward to wearing my cute swimsuits again (since I was too pregnant to last summer). Oh well

  • 8 months PP-- lighter but still there.

  • Girls, all you have to do is rub it with a wash cloth or exfoliate and they go away!  As the discolored skin dies and comes the surface, you can just rub it off.

Maybe I have a super resistant one, but this is not true at al!  I have rubbed and rubbed on my skin every shower.  I've used a wash cloth, a loofa, even a foot file at one point of desperation.  It does not just rub off in all cases.  Trust me on t his one.  Right after my son was born it did lighten by scrubbing it, but that was it.
