If your kid is in pullups...

My daughter is almost 2 and has shown a lot of interest in the big girl potty and will go on it once in a while. So i'm down to a small amount of diapers but we have some pullups. I was thinking about trying pullups during the day and putting a diaper on at night.

Questions: How often do you take your kid to the potty? Is every hour too often? If she pees in the pullup will it soak through or is that only likely to happen if she pees in it more than once? Sorry if these questions are silly.

A pull up isn't any different from a regular diaper aside from the pulling up part. They absorb just as much as a regular diaper, in our experience. DD is in a pull up at night and undies all day/nap. They are not 'training pants'...maybe that's what you're thinking of?

Anyway, we trained DD right into undies and at first she literally went every 20 minutes. It took a day of frequent accidents for her to learn to hold it longer. Now, about two months after potty training, she goes every two hours, give or take, depending on how much she drinks.
