ETA: I would like to explain I am a PS girl. Its a mixed marriage DH is definitely a Xbox dude.  Looks like we'll be adding two new consoles to our house in the nearish future.

Not yet. They're saying this is just a preview. That the big hoopla will be at E3

It's going to flop like a fish out of water. It's like all they are doing is trying to make your TV like your dang smartphone. It also looks gigantic. Hubs has already said that unless there are kick butt games on it that are just on Xbox he won't be buying.

I thought they did include the Kinect. Maybe I was walking the dog during that bit. Since it seems like all the voice controls and shiz are through the connect now.

Just the new Xbox console. AKA they are combining your smartphone, cable box, and BS slapping a fancy kinect on it that reads where you are and how you move (with a camera on it) and calling it an Xbox.

Yes its a whole new Kinect. It has better camera and stuffff, I guess.

Mostly because they're introducing Skype for the Xbox One

They haven't confirmed backwards compatibility or the always online rumor.  The console itself looks like a VCR.  With a baby on the way in September I don't think I'm buying it.

From what I've seen today they will restrict the use of used games. I'm not watching though just paying attention to twitter feeds and such.

I doubt either the Xbox or PS4 will allow used games.  At least Sony is concentrating more on creating a gaming console and less an all-inclusive entertainment hub.  

I'm going to dig my NES out of the basement.

DH wanted an Xbox w/ Kinect on the baby registry. For those sleepless nights.

I've heard you can hand a controller that is turned off to a toddler and play "with" them, where they think they're helping, but really you're just playing

Too bad DW is so anti-screen time. Although her resolve is melting as DS gets older and more rambunctious.

Okay, not to sound all conspiracy theorist, BUT...

Does anyone else find it disturbing that the new xbox never turns off (unless you unplug it, otherwise you just say "Xbox on.")? And that it is always connected to the internet? With a camera on the kinect that is so good it can work in a dark room and can even tell your heartrate?

Call me paranoid, but no thank you. It has way too much Big Brother potential for me to want it in my home. I'm happy with the 360.
