So my baseline went great this morning. My AFC actually went up from January's; from 15 to 17 (8 on left, 9 on right) so I'm excited to get things started. Especially since this is the first time in three years with some IF insurance coverage. The admin laughed when I said it felt so weird to not have to fork over tons of cash on my way out the door.
What was new, was the U/S tech gave me two new "talks" and said that my RE had wanted her to talk to me about due to some new studies. The first was about BPA (a chemical that's in plastics and cans) in regards to MFI and morph specifically...now admittedly we don't have a huge issue with morph (number has been 7-9% on strict krueger) but wanted to pass it on. They said simple changes made can improve sperm in as little as three days! (WHA?) They say to avoid containers marked with #7 (polycarbonate containers), that those marked with #1, 2, 4 & 5 are generally safer for food and drinks. She said avoid cans (like pop cans, soup cans etc) in the weeks leading up to treatment cycle, coffee cups from chains (ask them to put it straight into your porcelain, BPA free plastic bottle or stainless steel drinking container), do NOT microwave or store anything in plastics (except ziplock bags or clearly marked BPA free products). Etc.
The other new research that I found interesting is that studies showing a male ejaculating for a straight 7-10 days (every day) up to day of trigger have higher rates of pregnancy. So, I called and passed on the new homework to DH that he needs to whack off or have sex with me every day starting today through next Tuesday (and I'll likely trigger on Tuesday). I'll be interested to see how his post wash numbers are from this "experiment". DH might get a bit exhausted, but honestly we won't be doing it much of that, probably just three times over the next week, and I can't think jerking off once a day takes as much out of you as sex does. But he laughed at his "homework" and was glad I called instead of sending him that email at work LOL.

The reason it can be bad for morph is because the chemical is synthetic estrogens, giving a man extra synthetic estrogen messes with the DNA of sperm. She said of the women it affects, it makes them look more PCOS and can affect egg quality, but with my U/S she said "clearly, you don't seem to be affected by it." ::::shrugs:::: IDK, it's just another thing to think about.
