Help me! Bottle issues...

So aparently the bottle that A took so well on Sunday was a fluke. We tried again yesterday and today and no luck. She was screaming, refused to suck..... I leave the room so she can't see me, DH is so patient with her and tries everything we can think of. He gets a little BM on the nipple so she can taste it, tries different positions, calms her if she gets too upset. We don't know what else to do. We are going to keep trying everyday but it's so frustrating! Poor DH feels like he is doing something wrong and I keep telling him that A just really likes her boobies better. Any tips????

E never liked to take a bottle. But her first day at day care, zero trouble. I guess she knew she had no other choice? Just keep at it. You at least know that she is capable of taking one. She just doesn't want to. I'm glad YH is so patient about it.

No advice. Just sympathies. Hannah also doesn't like the bottle. It's frustrating, but keep trying.

Maybe try away from the house? Or in a room where she doesn't usually get the boob? Is he nervous/panicky or frustrated? My LC also said to have DH try with baby on the boppy in nursing position. 

J is hit or miss with the bottle. I'm rarely gone longer than 3-4 hours, so I think sometimes she just holds out then gobbles boob like a piggy.

Nope, very easy going and patient!

great ideas! That way she's in a totally different environment, maybe that will do the trick, GL!

I have no experience but maybe a latex nipple instead of silicone.   Latex feels more natural to them supposely. GL

The only thing I can add is to try it at her best point during the day. Our pedi specifically warned us against doing it in the evening since that's the witching hour for so many babies! DD got bottles all Saturday evening and sure enough when I got home at 11, she was melting down!

G really struggled with the bottle at first. My advice is to keep offering it! Don't give up. One day she should magically take it and your persistence will pay off. It's so hard, though!

Have you tried different bottle nipples?  I have 2 types of bottle nipples (Dr. Browns & ones from Similac ready-to-feed bottle) and my LO doesn't like Dr. Browns ones.  Both nipples are slow flow, but I guess my baby doesn't like its nipple shape, so she struggle with Dr. Browns nipple.  It's too bad because Dr. Browns ones are supposed to be really good and reduce gas, etc.

It was a same thing for a paci.  She likes soothie type, but not the ones from NUK.  Again, I am assuming she likes certain nipple shape.

I am not sure if this works for your baby, but I thought you might give a shot!
