Low progesterone

Hi. I wanted to see if any of u had experience with having to use progesterone sepositories 7DPIUI. My level was 6.4 and they put me on this till next tues. my preg. Test day.
They said it would stop my AF till then. AF is supposed to come in 2 days. I was obviously hoping AF wouldn't happen.

I wanted to know has anyone taken a preg test before their test with the RE while on progesterone supplement?
Does it effect the outcome? Should I just wait till the 28th?

Re: Low progesterone

  • Progesterone does not affect a pregnancy test, but a trigger shot can produce a false positive if you've had one. I'd wait until at least 12 days past trigger to test, but waiting until your beta is never a bad idea.

  • Thank you ball.and.chain. I need to think about this.
Has anyone had to use progesterone and then got a BFP or a BFN for that cycle?

Yes. Both. It will not affect the outcome BFP or BFN. If you are pregnant, most likely they will have you stay on it and/or keep testing your progesterone levels. If you are not pregnant, they will have you stop taking it and wait for your period to come (usually a few days after you stop taking progesterone).

I am 12 weeks and so I have been on progesterone for over 3 months now. Before that, I was on progesterone during every 2ww for almost a year.

Taking progesterone suppositories is annoying, but if you are pregnant, it is to help your body support the pregnancy. Good luck!

Thank you! I have finally come to terms with this. I have accepted that it will be the best for the possible LO. Now it is just a wait till I actually know if it will be a BFP/BFN.
