Curious to know if any moms who have switched to Similac Alimentum find that their LO actually sleeps better both during the day and night. We are in the process of switching DD to it for stomach issues (silent reflux, horrible gas) but I have heard since the proteins are more broken down that babies get hungry more often and tend to wake up at night more often to feed (sometimes multiple times). After 3 bottles she seems to be eating less and hasn't been hungry more often - maybe because it takes so bad?My DD is already a horrible sleeper and only does one 3-4 hour stretch from like 8-12, and then is up every hour for the rest of the night, so I really can't deal with any more wake ups!Would love to know what others have experienced, and if your LO has been doing better since making the switch.
Re: Alimentum - Sleeping More or Less?
I didn't really notice a difference in sleep when she was eating Alimentum. At the time we added rice cereal per the Ped. She definitely did better on the Alimentum ready to feed than the powder. It is so thin which is probably why you may have heard about babies needing to eat more often. I didn't notice that with DD. The stuff smells horrendous and some babies refuse to eat it, which could be why your DD is eating less.
DD is now on Similac Spit up thank god.
