Babies on the Brain

Need Your Thoughts-Not Quite Baby Related

Hello Everyone,

My 4 year old dog (baby in that sense) is real sick. Has been for a little over 2 weeks now. During this time, we have taken him to the vet multiple times, have done many tests, and he is now going in for surgery; exploratory surgery. They think he may have an obstruction by the way his intestines look in the X-ray, but it's not absolute. I'm scared, nervous and worried about my little guy. I just hope that this is it, so he will finally feel better (about 4 grand later). I feel awful worrying about the cost too, but can't help but see this as a set back (I really want to start TTC this summer). I hope he is okay, and ask that you please keep my little guy in your thoughts.

Bumpies, this is just not my year. My job is extremely stressful, and now I fear that I will have to try to pick up overtime, or get another income. Yesterday, I get a summons for jury duty this July. Ugh! My little man is in surgery. And now, I worry that we will have to put off having a baby. All I can think about is my poor dog being so sick, and that I'm running out of money. I just paid off my students loans, so I just gave up 14000 three weeks ago. Great timing. Sure, that's a positive that it's out of the way. My other puppy is doing great. My husband loves his job. But then, blaaaah! The rest is just a downhill spiral, and I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel.

So please, you wonderful group of strangers, pray that my dog gets through this horrible time so that I have a happy, healthy dog and something else that's positive to help me through this terrible month! :( Thank you so much!

  • My thoughts and prayers are being sent your way. I'm so sorry that you are going through a stressful time. Things will get better. Just try to stay positive. I know it's hard, but you will get through this.

  • When I used to ski race as a kid my coach put a sticker on my helmet that said "whatever it takes" whenever I start feeling like you describe I think "I may not ________ see the light, feel like I can do it, wait that long, etc but I will do whatever it takes to find the light, get it done, etc." I know that you can do whatever it takes to get through this. And one day, whether it e sooner or later, you will look back and be able to say " I got through that". Chin up :

  • Thank you both so much. I really appreciate your kind words right now! My little man is out of surgery. He had a large chunk of rubber stuck in his intestine. The poor guy is in some pain, but seems to be doing better. I'm so grateful that we should be heading in the right direction now. I will try to stay positive and keep on chugging along! Thank you again.
  • Glad that your pup is out of surgery and that they were able to find and fix the problem. I'll be praying for a fast recovery. And for things with your job, etc! That really sucks that this month has been do crummy for you. Try to keep focused on the good things you mentioned. Hopefully next month will bring with it some unexpected blessings!
