Well the day is finally here. LO did ok when I dropped her off, not me so much. I called to check on her this afternoon and they said everything has been fine, but she has yet to nap for the day! WOW, I am going to have a grumpy baby on my hands when I pick her up. I hope she gets accustomed to all this change and starts sleeping some during the day.
Re: First day at daycare
I'm sure she's just super stimulated by all of the new people and activity around her. You will be surprised I think at how quickly she will adapt to her new surroundings. My DS is with a nanny rather than daycare but leaving him is still hard. It will get easier in the sense that it will become more routine, but I still count the minutes until I can go home to be with him.
Hang in there!
Don't feel bad! Your DD will learn to sleep at daycare; as pps said, she was probably overly stimulated. My DD also barely slept on her first day and came home rather grumpy, but she quickly adjusted and naps much better at daycare than she ever has at home. It's an in-home center, but since there are older kids there that nap only once in the aftenroon, the lights are on and there are eight other kids running around for at least two of her naps.
