It seems like a lot of you out there are going through a crappy Monday. So am I. Here is my little vent:
This weekend we tested to see if maybe, just maybe, we got lucky with our first IUI working. BFN. I have PMS and am waiting for AF.
On top of that, I have had a cold for the past week and I am still not better.....AND the main guy that I work with is putting in his 2-week notice today - I'm about to be screwed. The last thing I need is more stress.
The cherry on that crap-sundae is that I haven't had a drink in over a month. The doctor told me not to drink, at all, while taking Metformin. Do any of you take Metformin and have an occasional drink? I've been too nervous to try because I've read a lot of bad things.
Re: Case of the Mondays.
I'm sorry that your having a bad monday, hopefully the rest of your day will fly by.
I definitely woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. I thought I would be ok when I finally tested negative after my trigger, since it was driving me crazy seeing squinter lines all the way through 10 DPO/12 DPT. Now seeing BFNs yesterday at 11 DPO and today at 12 DPO, have just convinced me that this cycle is a bust (I know that it is still early, but I can't convince myself not to give up on this cycle). I really want to just go home, crawl back in bed, and eat nothing but junk food today; but today is our company picnic so staying in bed is not an option. The only good thing about our picnic is that includes booze, although I had reall hoped to have a reason not to drink today.

PAIF/SAIF Welcome!
Sorry you are having a rough monday! I can sympathize.
I have been on Metformin for about a year and no one has told me not to drink while taking it. It is probably one of the many warnings on the label but RE has never pointed that out to me as a big hazard. I definintely have the occassional drink (sometimes more than just occassionally) and haven't noticed anything alarming. Obviously that can be different for different people and I am certainly not a doctor....but my experience has been that I haven't noticed anything strange about having a drink while on metformin.

As to your question about Metformin, I'm no dr. but, like I said I'm diabetic. The reason your dr. says no drinking is because the metformin can cause a low blood sugar effect, and so can alcohol. If you know your body well enough, and you don't drink in excess, I think you will be fine!!
