Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Solids/Gas

For those who have started solids, when do you usually feed little one? We are just giving half a container of the step 1 veggies or fruits at night around 7:00 (DS goes down at 8), but it appears DS is extra gassy. He wakes up 2-3 times a night kicking his feet and letting out gas. He normally is a gassy baby, but not like this at night. We have tried the gripe water and it helps, but not for all night. Should I consider moving solids up to an earlier time or is there other things I could try for gas help? We just started solids last Wednesday, so maybe it just takes time for LO to adjust?  Thanks!

Re: Solids/Gas

  • My son is 5 months old on the 23rd of may, and he's been on stage 1 fruits and veggies for almost a month 3 to 4 times a day...when he was born we realiezed he had extremely bad gas issues...for the first week he was up for hours on hours screaming at the top of his lungs and couldnt go to sleep. we tried gas drops, they kinda worked but not all night..then we tried the gripe water. the brand is mommy's bliss. worked like a charm. we put it in every bottle that he had and after about 2 weeks of being on it his body got used to it. he still uses it but wont take it by the mouth so we put it in his bottle or in his oatmeal when he eats. it took a little bit to kick in but i say honestly try the gripe water directly in the mouth or in a bottle. because it takes newborns about a week to get used to something new so that might be it! hope i helped.
