DD

DD...thanks for your responses.  I am happy with the choices I've made.  I'm just irritated that others think my decisions or concerns are something they need to worry about.  :)

Re: DD

  • Sometimes babies have sensitive bums & require a changing more than once every 2 hours, has she considered that?

We're a go with the flow family, but I don't see the harm in you bringing your own food for LO to eat.  If I was really opposed to what our DC lady fed DS, I'd bring him his own food too.

To each their own...you keep doing your thing, and she can do hers, everyone has different priorities.

It blows my mind that more people don't think they should have a say in how the service they are paying for is delivered.

Sure, your center is under zero obligation to change any practices, but there is this bizarre "you just need to shut up and take it" vibe people have about child care that just does not compute for me.

You are paying them -- you can dare to have an opinion on when they change and how they feed your kid.

Thank you Amy.  I was hoping to hear your thoughts :) I share your opinion!

  • Whatever, I'm tired of people who are happy to let their 1 year olds eat cookies and brownies several times a week call me over protective for not introducing these foods into my one year old's diet yet.

I'd rather be high maintenance and satisfied, then easy-going and unhappy.

Also, we're talking about your child. If ever there is something to be picky, or high-maintenace, or annoying about, it's care of your child.

    Exactly.

Why does your coworker even care?  I can't imagine getting worked up about how one of my coworkers feels about their daycare.  Does she have kids in the same center?  Is it possible she's calling you annoying because she feels judged or insecure for just going with the flow?

Anything is possible.  She's with the same chain, but not my center.
