Man flu updated

DH was being a super jerk all weekend. He had a bad attitude and was complaining about everything.

Yesterday afternoon, he spiked a fever. He literally woke me up every time he got hot and every time he got cold all night. He whined the whole time he was getting ready for work today and I'm already tired of this illness.

Would it be inappropriate to take the girls and leave for a few days?

Update: I was at the grocery store when DH got home from work with DD1. He was sitting on the couch playing on his iphone and started complaining as soon as I walked in the door. He stated that he still was achy. I asked if he took anything and he said he hadn't had time. Seriously? Your playing with your stupid iphone.

He hadn't given dd1 a snack so as soon as I walked in she was asking for milk and yogurt. While I was fixing it for her, he said, I've just been giving her cookies.

He then stated she was acting tired and laid her down for a nap. That was like 15 minutes ago and she's still screaming. I try not to get her up while she's crying, so I was waiting her out.

Now he's complaining that I'm just letting her scream.

I'm soooo over this.

  • Leave him with a box of tissues and a tiny violin.

  • I HATE the man flu. Good luck and I hope you and the girls don't catch what he has!

Semi-unrelated side story: DH doesn't ever get mean or snippy when he's sick, but he can whine like the best of them. He got his first sinus infection a couple months ago and was in misery, but I assumed it was classic Man Flu and I was a total jerk to him and basically told him to suck it up. (To be fair, I had just had food poisoning so after living on the bathroom floor for several days/nights, I just wasn't in the mood to hear him complain about his face hurting). He finally went to the doctor and was diagnosed with a really bad late-stage sinus infection and the only reason he didn't go sooner was because I told him he was being a baby. It took him a few weeks to get over it and the antibiotics did a number on his digestive system. I still feel really terrible about it because the doc was all, "why on Earth didn't you come in sooner???" Wife of the year right here, folks! Embarrassed

I got the flu when I was 8 months pregnant and then DH got it and don't worry, he still swears up and down he felt worse than I did.

I second this.  Men suck when sick.

  • Go. Now. Save yourself!

We just got over the "oh I am DYING because I have a sinus infection."

I understand being whiney when you have the man flu...  but being a jerky a-hole is just wrong.

I hope you told him to shut the eff up and go to bed.
