Looking for a BF MOM for support...

I recently moved from SC to PA and have been trying to put together a list of a support system of ladies who i can call on after these babies arrive and I am having a rough day on the breastfeeding front.  I have met a few ladies at a MOM's GTG but only one of them breastfed her twins. The next LLL meeting in this area will be next month and my babies will probably be here by then.  Unfortunately since we are new to the area i don't know many women (especially those who breastfed twins) but i'm hoping if i have  a list on the fridge of people to call on to help get me through the rough days it'll be a little easier.  If anyone who has BF twins in the last year or so would be willing to take me under their belt as a mentor or whatever, i would be greatly appreciative.

<hoping i don't sound too pathetic...

  • Where in PA are you?  My sister doesn't have twins but she helped me so much whenever I had a question.  She is in Central PA.  Go ahead and PM me and I would be glad to help you.

  • There are TONS of us on here who have successfully nursed twins! If you have any trouble when the time comes, just ask away and I'm absolutely certain you'll get some very helpful answers :)

  • We moved to the suburbs on the western side of allentown.
  • She's still a few hours away, in State College.

My local LLL has contacts for their group leaders.  I've called them several times with questions and they even put me in contact with other bf twin mamas between meetings.  That might a help too.

  • I am also successfully bf twins.  You can always reach out!

my email is kylastarks at yahoo dot com

  • Well, I'm not close physically, cause I'm down in FL, but you can always come here to ask questions or shoot me an email - I breastfed a singleton and then the twins.

  • We are going on strong at 10 months.  The support I got from my LC, the LLL, and the amazing ladies on THIS BOARD totally kept me going through the rough patch in the beginning.

    Email or page me anytime!

     Good luck!

  • hi - please feel free to email me at thewordnerd @ comcast . net

I'm only 4 and a half months in - but I feel like a pro.  I'll give you my cell # and you can call anytime.

One BIG thing I did that made me feel better was call the hospital where I was delivering ahead of time and talk to the Lactation Consultants there.  I told them when I was scheduled to deliver and they gave me their names and schedules so I knew who to ask for after they were born.  Also, I asked them to be considerate of the fact that I was going to need a lot of help with the nursing when they were assigning staff.  Believe it or not, some nurses actually don't like to be bothered with a nursing mom.  It was sooo helpful to have good nurses 24h a day for support.  After my milk came in, I had a LC come to the house.

Also, I suggest getting the EZ2Nurse pillow.  It's awesome.
