I eat yogurt that is a month expired. Cream cheese that is a couple months past. If it isn't growing something and it doesn't smell weird I take it more as a reminder of when I purchased it. lol
LOL. This. And it's usually a sell by date not an expiration date...
Dairy products you just have to check. If they're bad, it's usually obvious...although I have accidentally eaten cheese with a tiny bit of mold before I noticed. I didn't die haha. Expiration dates are like due dates lol. They can't predict exactly when it'll go bad, just give you a date that it'll still "be good" by so you have a general idea. Eat the cheeeeeese. It's delicious.
A few weeks ago, I ate some cheese and later realized the end of the block was moldy. It didn't taste bad or anything. Truthfully, if I weren't pregnant, I would have just cut the moldy pieces off and put the cheese back in the fridge. But I decided to exercise a little more caution since I'm pregnant. With daily products, it will smell or taste foul if it's bad.

Re: Expired Cheese?
Guess I never noticed, I've probably been eating expired cheese as well.
I have some cheese that says "best if sold by April 20" on the package. No expiration date. I HATE the "best if sold by" thing. It's so ambiguous.
Like a PP said, I guess it's alright as long as it doesn't smell, look, or taste weird at all.
