Buying used car seat

I'm buying a Graco My Ride from someone I know. She said there's no rips, tears or stains. It doesn't expire for another 3.5 yrs. My question is, is there anything else I should inspect that carseat for other than that mentioned above.

I've agreed to buy it for 40.00 but haven't went to pick up yet.

ETA.. forgot to mention, no car accidents.

    I would ask if its ever been involved in a car accident. If it has, I wouldn't buy it.

    Oh I thought I mentioned that but I didn't. No accidents. I know the lady fairly well. I work at a daycare and she drops her kids off there. She's a nurse practioner and has said shes very up to date on carseat rules.

    I'd ask where it has been stored since it was last used. If it's been out in the sun or in the heat and cold... that could weaken the plastic.

    Has the harness ever been submerged or put in the washing machine?

    Never been submerged in water and was used by the LO until just a couple days ago. I went ahead and decided to get it.
