Our LO was 3 weeks early (he is now 4 weeks old) and is collapsing the nipple at feedings. He is not showing signs of being frustrated yet but I do pull it out of his mouth several times so it can regain form.
I was going to breast feed but he had latch problems so I am exclusively pumping and then bottle feeding. I am using the nipples the hospital gave me but I can not find them in the stores. I have tried Tommee tippee and he wants no part of them. The nipple is a lot shorter on them which I believe is part of the problem.
the nipples I am using now I thought were Playtex brand but I can't seem to find any Playtex in stores that look like these.
Any suggestions as to brand/size to try? I am clueless, the last time I bottle fed was when my oldest son was a baby and that was 23 years ago. I exclusively breast fed our daughter so it has been a loooong time since I have bought a bottle and or nipple.
Re: need new nipple suggestion help
This and the Medela ones that came with my pump. I tried the playtex naturalatch ones that came with the drop ins and they were just way too wide for him to get a hold of. He's a great bf'er too. Very strange.
Us too. She would collapse the nipple on Medela bottles and tommee tippee and she would drip on the Phillips Avents.
Thank you. I will give the Doctor Browns a try.
our EBF baby uses Dr. Brown's, too. Make sure they come with the level one slow flow nipple to start. If that seems too fast, there are also preemie nipples you can get. Our DS uses those, but he is used to the boob. Since you are an EP'r, the level one will probably be good!
