It seems my LOs big sleep association is darkness. She sleeps all night, at 9 weeks. But naps are always 45 minutes...and then she goes into the next sleep cycle and opens her eyes and is wide awake. But I've heard her her get up at night, make grunts and coos but then go back to sleep with no crying. I recently bought a hat with a "eye mask" attached and she was able o take a longer nap! So we are buying black out curtains for her room...
Is this anyone else's LO? During bed time it's bath, bottle and rocking but as long as its dark out if I put her asleep awake she'll fall asleep. However try that during the day and she's bright eyed, albeit cranky. Recently she's only been taking 30 min naps in the sling when I used to get marathon sessions out of her that way!!

Little Riley-our first little girl coming March 1st, 2013 (or sometime around there;)
Re: Darkness as a sleep association?
My toddler is still that way. Since the days are getting longer and its still light at bedtime (even with black out curtains), she's started pulling a hat over her eyes. She figured that out on her own!
As a baby it was very difficult to get her to nap during the day. At night, the glow from the clock/fan would wake her.
