Saw these names on the screen in the next alley (Pretty sure they weren't NN, their mother kept calling the youngest, who was about 3): 

Kal.iyah, Ke.yon, Kasha.una, Kam.oni

Once while bowling dh snd I saw a kid in the next lane over named Ian. Then they said it. They pronounced it "eyein"

We felt pretty bad for that kid.

There is a boy on DS's t-ball team and they pronounce it EYE on, yet seem mystified and annoyed when people don't pronounce it that way.

Huh. We pronounce Ian's name Eean, and people always say it Eyean. Guess you can't win either way

I really don't understand why they would pronounce Ian like Eyean.

like the dude from 90210.... Ian Zeiring. That is how he pronounces his name.

That would be "Ion". Great in science, not so great as a name. . But sure gave me a giggle.

That would be "Ion". Great in science, not so great as a name. . But sure gave me a giggle.  

 I actually know an "Ion" but it's spelled very differently. She is Korean.
