For those of you with LO's napping 1 hour or longer, are you losely following an eat play sleep schedule? And at what interval are they eating usually? TIA
DS's naps are all over the place. For the past few days, his morning nap has been really long, but the others are 1 hr or less. I nurse him when he wakes up no matter how long ago he nursed. At some point, all of his naps will get longer and I'd rather have him used to that schedule than try spacing his feedings out more and mess up the routine. That leads to nursing to sleep, which I'm trying to avoid.
My LO has always pretty much set her own schedule. I feed her every four hours depending on when she wakes. She naps between every feeding, usually her morning nap is only 30-45min and her afternoon and evening naps at least an hour. It's so funny cuz hubby has tried skipping her last bottle when it comes after eight.....she will be sleeping and he says I wouldn't wake her, she will probably just stay asleep. I try to make him realize this child counts her naps and bottles! She's not willing to give any of them up.
We are following the eat, play, sleep routine. We just made the transition a couple weeks ago to eating every 4 hours. My LO had never slept through the night until we did this. Now he is STTN and napping average 1.5 to 2 hours. We are pretty relaxed about the times everything happens as he wakes up for the day at different times but we do stick to the routine.
Benjamin takes a long morning nap lasting from 1 to 2.5 hours. The rest of his naps vary. Either a half hour-hour early afternoon nap and nothing more until bedtime at 6:30, or he'll take two short afternoon naps.

We're on more of a play, eat, sleep schedule and his naps are almost always 2 hours long. I'll also try to nurse him when he wakes up, but he usually only eats for a couple minutes then.

Dd just started long naps in the last week or 2. I started a nap routine diaper, sleep sack, paci, book, bed, but I think it was more that she was developmentally ready. she is usually awake 23 hours. 3 hours is pushing it but sometimes we are out and she doesn't really nap well in her carseat or stroller
