Motn feedings

How do you approach this? Change first? Feed first? Right
Now lo goes down at 9 and sleeps till 1 maybe 1:30. But by the time she fed and back in his crib it's 2 and he's up again by 3. Then 5 then 6 then around 8. I appreciate that 4.5 hour stretch. But how can I make that second one longer. Eliminate the 3 am wake up. Right now he gets up we change him and feed him. He nurses till he's asleep and goes back to bed. Should I use the paci? Change after nursing? Tia!

My LO is up alot at night too. Do you swaddle your LO? My DH is like the swaddle king around here and when he swaddle him, I get a few hours sleep. When I swaddle I get about 2 hours at a time! Anyways, I try to change him before feedings or half way through because he will wake up if I do it afterwards.

I change his diaper half way through because he will usually get to upset because he is hungry otherwise.  Also because sometimes he goes poop in the middle of a feeding, this way I'm only changing once instead of twice.

I change DS between sides while nursing. He usually falls asleep on the first side, so changing him wakes him up just enough to get him to latch on the other side. He sleeps much better on a full belly. If he falls asleep and only nurses from one side, he is usually up an hour later.

Ok. I'll try the half way through. He is 7 weeks old and never liked being swaddled. I wonder if it is too late to try again. And he only takes on side at a feeding but I can change half way through and maybe he'll eat more. Any other tips or tricks. He gets bad gas so that doesn't help my cause either.

When LO wakes up and is crying, DH changes him then brings him to me. I feed him then put him back in his crib. Be sure LO is getting plenty to eat... Offer both boobs and burp in between. If she falls asleep too quickly while eating, she might not get enough milk to tide her over asking. Also, our pedi told us that if LO wakes up and is fussing a little but not crying, we can try to soothe him back to sleep to stretch out the time between feedings a but more. Of course, if he starts really crying and is upset, I feed him. Some babies just need time, they're all different.

don't switch to the other side until she seems done, definitely not before ten minutes... You want to make sure  that she gets the hind milk from the first boob. I think you may find that if you change her between boobs, she will then wake up and be willing to eat from the other side... It only needs to be for a few minutes.

Mine usually goes down at 8 or 830 and sleeps until 130 then is up at 530 and 830 for the day.  He is 11 weeks.  The doctor said its normal for the first stretch to be longer than the rest.  If he wakes up at 3 or 4 I bring him in the bed with me and he sleeps for an extra hour to hour and a half.  Part of him waking up is he doesn't know how to soothe himself to sleep yet.  I think he might be ready to drop the 130 feeding because he keeps waking up and only taking 2oz then falling asleep when he usually drinks 4.. I think he just wakes up and can't put himself back to sleep so we are going to be working on this! Also swaddling gets me an extra two hours as well .. We use the halo sleep sack swaddle and the miracle blankets.. They both work great!
