New lab, poor DH!

So since we are redoing all of our testing that includes my DH also. We are using a new lab this time and they do things a little different. In fact, they only do SA two days a week... AND the only time they accept them to be dropped off (no collection at the lab) is between 0730-0800!

That means we will be setting the alarm to get up and drop off the sample! Talk about pressure. Wake up and get it done! I feel bad for the guy, kind of, but mostly I think its funny. Heck, I've been through much worse.

For my husband's first S/A it was only Fridays and have to be dropped off between 7 and 8 am.  I think it's not too uncommon.  I felt a little bad and asked DH if there was anything I could do to help.  He laughed and said "I masterbated for years before we met.  Trust me, I'm a master at this...that's what they call it masterbation."  I got a good laugh but he was right, he went in another room and like five minutes later handed me the cup.

I always feel so bad that DH has to go in so early for his samples for IUI! I know in have been through a lot but if I had to "preform on command" then I would never get pregnant! That's a lot of pressure! I agree, it is very funny but that is a lot of pressure and if he lets the pressure get to him then he may not be able to "deposit" thus no baby!! I hope your new labs turn out fine!! FX for you!!

katib - Lol. That is toooo funny. I guess for me, I can't imagine being in those shoes. I'm not even a little bit of a morning person, and hate waking up before 8am. That is why I work nights! But your DH is right, its not like they don't know what they're doing and haven't had lots of practice!!

Scbedi - Many it's the booze talking...but you couldn't "perform on demand" alone in the comfort of your house?  I agree for the guys that have to go in, that's got to be uncomfortable.  But if I imagine the tables reverse, and I only had to go into a room and masterbate to orgasm...I think I'd be able to get the job done.  I not saying - I'm just saying.  KWIM?

I definitely hear ya, my DH goes in for his, which is very clinical and in the room they played the Christian radio station in the room when he was going last time. I'm not saying they don't have it easy in comparison. Just trying to put myself in DH'a shoes for a moment.

OMG that would be awful!   I remember at the Uro, DH said it was bad because the magazines were old...and I was like, "So what? A naked chick is a naked chick."  And he's like pages were stuck together.  Eeeewwwww!!!!!

Oooooooooooh boy!! This whole thread is cracking me up, and Potter, your attitude on the whole thing makes me chuckle. My DH has been very lucky that he can collect his sample at home and bring it in on the way to work. I cannot imagine the horror of the Christian radio station in the background!! Hahaha!! Poor guy!!

When we had our IUI my DH had to collect it at the lab. He couldn't get the DVD player to work and was too scared to ask for help, so he used the Pamela Anderson magazine. We still joke about his time with Pam! I don't know if he could have performed with a Christian Radio Station in the background. Talk about Holy Moly!

My husband and I have been off birth control for 6 years now. Not once have we been pregnant. We did clomid IUI in 2010 for 6 try and failed. We do not believe in IVF, as the lord would bless us without a test tube if it was going to happen... anwyas, he is unemployed and we couldn't afford any more.

In March, I met someone who was my spiratual match and might have had a small affair. I was very busy in April and don't know if I had a period. I did not get one when I should have this month. My abdomen is slightly swollen and my boobs hurt bad. Should I take a test? I don't think I can get pregnant, but what if I am? I asked another board too, but want lots of opinions! Especially from people who don't do IVF too! HELP HELP HELP!

Yeah, I wouldn't feel too bad for him, haha! At least he gets to do it at home, right? For his SA, my DH had to give the sample in a hospital bathroom. Not even a chair to sit on... just a porcelain throne.

My husband had a similar experience. Had to do his SA at the clinic and he said they only had a 1998 playboy that looked like it had been "used" often. ::shiver:: I do kind of feel sorry for them.
