Facebook ad nonsense

Why does it seem like all of a sudden my newsfeed is full of suggested pages and the like? Not just the ads on the side but the big promos with "like this page" on them. It used to be like one here, one there, NBD, but now I swear there's like 5 every time I check my newsfeed.

I'm guessing there's no way to get rid of them, huh?

    I was just thinking this the other day. Between those suggested pages and friends posting ads, links to pages, etc., fb is getting boring.

    I have a shitload of ads because of people liking walmart, amazon, and republican leaning shiit. Fuckthatnoise, some people on my friends list be lying about their loyalties.
