Hello all,
This is my first post. I am an otherwise healthy 37 year old, never been pregnant to my knowledge, married to my husband for 13 years. We have not been TTC but not preventing it either for most of our marriage. We decided if we really want a baby we need to get serious about it, but over the past six months have had no luck. I had an HSG with no findings other than minor cervical stenosis, but I have no trouble having a period (very regular cycle which averages 25 days) so my doctor did not consider it anything significant. She prescribed Clomid 50 mg on cycle days 3-7, which I started this month. I am now on cycle day 12. I am wondering what success or experiences people in my similar situation may have had with Clomid. I am starting to panic that my window is closing!
Thanks!
Re: Success with Clomid?
Welcome, Indyoes.....
First of all, you have plenty of time at age, 37. You and your husband were smart to recognize that you needed to get busy and are doing so...And, you have already discussed it with your doctor and have done some testing, so you are on the right track, which is really good.
Best of luck with your Clomid regime. Your doctor has you right where you should be....a nice conservative approach. I am sure that your doctor has discussed with you that you can only take it 6 times in your life. I have taken it three times with no luck, but that doesn't mean anything because we all respond differently to the medicine and our situations...
Don't panic, just breath and know that you are fine, walking down on the right path with plenty of time.
Best of luck and keep us posted to how you did with the clomid.
Take care and welcome again!
Welcome to the board,
I'm on day 16 of my cycle first round of 50mg of Clomid. I'm panicking too, I just haven't had any signs of ovulating, my OPKs keep coming up as negative but I did miss a few days and also had it error out on me.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for the both of us.
Also keep in mind that clomid has a lifetime max of 6 cycles, can cause dusted on ovaries and can cause thin linings....make sure you ob is doing u/s and get to an RE. Re get you pregnant OB catch the baby ;

Welcome!
I have almost exactly the same story as you (see ticker). My DH and I did not prevent anything looooong (10+) years before we got married. We are both healthy and had "no news, good news" on all our tests. But still no pregnancy. We needed IUI. I was on Clomid but, really, didn't need it. I needed the IUI. I still have no idea why.
I tend to advocate for being aggressive once you've committed to TTC while many others will tell you the opposite. I do regret the "relax and it will happen" attitude I had for years because now that we are thinking about a sibling, I feel like I'm in a rush, I'm having my kids too close together, etc...If I had advocated for myself earlier I would have had more options/time. It isn't like it haunts me everyday but it is there...
Your window is not closing and there are so many, many, many happy stories here. I wish you the best of luck!
Good Luck!

Diagnosed with GD at 28 weeks. Controlled through diet and exercise. No insulin.
Diagnosed with Cholestasis of pregnancy @ 36 weeks.
Delivered via C-section @ 36 weeks on 11/9/11.
Has your husband had a SA yet? Make sure that happens before you use the CLomid - if his swimmers are not good you use up your 6x lifetime max needlessly.
Please make sure you are getting monitored while using Clomid with midcycle ultrasound. Clomid can cause you major complications ( thin lining , cysts) if not used properly.
Good luck
