DS is 19 months (!) and for many months now we have used and had good success with Pampers Extra Protection Overnight diapers. Generally we've sized up in the overnights before the daytime diapers once we started getting leaks. Now he is in a size 5 during the day, and sure enough he's starting to leak out of the size 5 overnights.
Here's the thing -- he is a small kid, and very skinny. A size 6 diaper on him (I had a Cruisers sample to compare to) will be ridiculously big and up to his chest practically in front if we go that route. I'm wondering if another brand in size 5 might do it if Pampers cannot.
SO here's the question -- if you are an overnight diaper user, or a Huggies user generally, how are they on skinny kids? For those who have BTDT, is it worth a try of Huggies size 5 before I go up to 6's with the Pampers?
(Admittedly this is a pretty ridiculous post - but you know how obsessed you can get when the kid starts waking up soaked in the morning!).

Re: Overnight Diapers Sizing Q
We use Huggies Size 5 overnights and Target Size 5 for the days. Targets are pretty comparable in size to Pampers in my experience. I think we're nearing needing to size up for the overnights (he's woken up wet a few times lately, so I'm very much there with you on that one). D is pretty skinny. 50% for height but only like 25% for weight.
How is G doing?

Hey there, lady. Thanks for the thoughts on the diaper situation. I think we may try a small pack of 6s and see how it goes before switching. I tend to order diapers on Amazon Mom and I don't want to commit to a huge box without some thought behind it.
G is doing pretty well. He's very active and very funny. His initial allergy tests were all over the map, and with his 25th percentile size the docs support his staying on formula as his "milk" beverage in the short term until we figure out what's going on. He is also still not entirely on solids - we have a continuing "pouch addiction" in our house - but to get food into him, I'll do whatever we have to do. Protein is the hard one - he's not a fan of meats (other than chicken nuggets) and no dairy makes this a challenge. He does not like coconut or almond yogurt, so there goes that idea, too. Oddly enough, he has not reacted to, and tested fine for peanuts, so we can occasioanlly get him to eat some peanut butter.
We are in an apartment as we wait for permits to begin our dormer project on our house (to add a bedroom for LO). Stressful for us but fun for G as he finds new things to get into and trouble to brew pretty much every day.
And how is your not-so-little-one?
