In for a rough night?

LO had a great day and night yesterday, but at 6pm this evening decided to start being extremely uncooperative. She would not go down for her last nap of the day and we've now gotten her down for bed and she's been in there awake just tossing and turning. She's now been awake for about 5 hours. I'm really hoping this doesn't mean we're in for a really rough night. Ugh!

  • How old is she?

  • 7 weeks. So I know I can't expect a lot, but it got me so freaked that she was awake for so long.

  • She still needs help falling asleep. Rock, dance, sway whatever works. You are not setting her up for future sleep issues or spoiling her. She's telling you she needs a bit of assistance. It's ok. Also, you are entering the 8 week wonder week...sleep sucked for us ay 8 weeks.

This!  And I've found that there's really no predicting how each night will go.  DD is pretty routine but with DS, sometimes he'd barely nap and then sleep a ton and night and other times he just wanted to be awake at night too.  Little stinker!

  • She actually ended up doing just fine last night. She did fight sleep until about 10:30, but after that, she slept til 4:30 for her MOTN feeding and just woke up for the day at 7:30.
