Success after IF

UPDATED Fever, nothing else

This is a first for us... Issues not related to the bronchitis. E has a fever, around 100. Stupid temporal scanner is all over the place. But staying in the 100 degree range. No other symptoms, no cough, no snot, no GI distress, no ear tugging. She did refuse her afternoon orange, but did eat Cheerios instead. She is acting a little off and sleeping a little more than usual. But nothing significant. Just Tylenol and watch her? Why does this always happen after hours?

UPDATE: Well, this morning she's got all snotty, but her fever's down.  Hopefully she can sleep a little extra today and feel better soon.  Thanks for all the well wishes.

Re: UPDATED Fever, nothing else

  • I agree with Tylenol and keep an eye on her. 100 isn't that high of a temp in a baby. If she is behaving normally I wouldn't worry. Hope it goes away soon!

  • Hope E gets better!

M spiked a fever (for the first time in his life) on Mother's Day.  Started off around 100, eventually went as high as 102F, but no other symptoms and he was his usual self.  Called pedi and told to give him tylenol, and alternate w/motrin if the fever isn't coming down.  His fever went away completely by the next morning, and he's been acting normal since, except he's been waking up a lot more at night.

Today while I was bathing him, I noticed he has a very faint, very fine rash all over his body. Called pedi again and he thinks M has roseola. Apparently it's a mild viral illness marked by fever and later on a rash (and minimal other symptoms). I'm bringing him in tomorrow to the office to get checked out...

So, keep an eye out for a rash on E; hope it's nothing!

Thanks everyone. We gave her some tylenol and she slept straight through dinner. I'm nursing her now and will give her some more Tylenol and put her down for the night. Hopefully she can get some good sleep tonight and feel better tomorrow.
Pb, thanks for the heads up. I hope M clears up soon and it's nothing to worry about.

Is she teething?   DD almost always runs a low-grade fever for about a week when she is about to start cutting a tooth, until the tooth pops out.  Her temp is usually in the 99.5 - 100 range.  If it remains low grade and she doesn't have symptoms of anything more serious, I'd suspect an in-coming tooth.

  • Hopefully the Tylenol helps and she's feeling fine tomorrow. Sick babies are the worst. :

That was my first thought. Her other two teeth she had 99, and her cheeks got super flushed. I don't think it's teeth anymore but time will tell I guess.
