Anyone use a generic soy formula?

My dd is on soy formula. She started on similac and is now on gerber and I would really like to try to transition her to a store brand after I talked to her pedi and he said they are just as good. If you use a generic soy, what kind are you using, did you notice any difference in your lo, and was this the first generic you tried? Also, what name brand were you using before switching to generic? TIA!

Re: Anyone use a generic soy formula?

  • If you take a look and compare ingredients and the vitamins in the name brand and generic version you will find that they are exactly the same. They are heavily monitored by the FDA and need to be made on par with the name brand.

I do not use soy, but I do use generic formula sometimes.

My question is what generic brand are you using? Was it the first generic you had tried?
  • I agree with first post. All formulas have to meet a guideline. I would have used generic soy with DD1, but I could never find any in my area, so I just used Similac. EXPENSIVE. Ha, or maybe I was just broke :)

I use the Walmart brand sometimes if I run out of Similac.
