Q About Crawling/3rd Foods

LO absolutely hates being on her stomach. Whenever I try to put her down, she starts fussing a lot. I'm wondering if she may skip crawling, because she refuses to stay on her stomach... unless I choose to let her cry (which I haven't yet).

When would I start the 3rd stage (crawler) foods? I know crawling usually happens between 7 and 10 months, so I'm not necessarily in a rush to give her those things. I'm just wondering... do I just use my own judgement about when I think she's ready? 

She eats her 2nd stage foods really well.

I must be more out of the loop than I previously thought. I've never heard this term.
