Mini pill

I was just prescribed the mini pill yesterday. I wanted an IUD however due to medical issues I cannot have one. For those who have taken it was it successful in preventing pregnancy? I definitely do not want another child this soon after. The 1 in 200 chance if taken perfectly and 1 in 20 chance if taken by average user scares me a bit. Any thoughts?

Are you bf'ing as well?  If so, I wouldn't be overly concerned, but of course you never know.

I started on it 2 nights ago.  I mean to start Sunday but forgot for a few days- I should pretty much plan on getting KU'd lol

I am breast feeding. Once I stop I will get on the regular pill.

We had no issues with the mini pill last time( I am also taking it this time too) but as soon as you start to wean from breast feeding let your Dr know so you can get a stronger pill.

Me too. I'm on the mini pill until 10 weeks when they'll place my iud.

I was on it last time and I'm on it again.  I actually didn't get off of it until we started TTC and I never had any issues.  I set the alarm on my phone so I dont forget to take it the at the same time everyday.  We never used back up.

I am taking it since I'm BFing and want to TTC again next year.  I am planning on taking the combo pill once I wean LO.  We aren't using a backup method.
