sunblocks on hands.....eat it too?

Now that my babe is over a year, I've been applying sunblock on her body.

Her face is fine, but when I apply it to her hands....well, it goes straight into her mouth.
Does your babe eat sunblock? How to stop her?? :(

He doesn't eat it...but he rubbed his eye right after application, and I had to flush his eye out, and it was red and puffy the whole time at the zoo on Sunday. :/ Poor little guy.

  • I don't think you can really stop them, my LO is teething and keeps biting on his fingers.  I just use a chemical-free sunblock from the Honest Company, so at least I know what he's putting in his mouth.

  • How about apply it to the tops of her hands but not the fingers. Unless she chews on her palms... Besides, I really don't think that the amount you put n their hands can harm them if they stick their fingers in their mouth. I would be more worried about all the nasty germs on their hands and not so much the sunblock...
  • She only chews her index finger when she's hungry. Otherwise she bites her upper palm between thumb and index fingers.

    I'm probably over thinking it.
