Suggestions Needed

Hey Ladies!

I was wondering if anyone could help me out. My "morning sickness" has kicked in to full gear and I am feeling pretty horrible. The problem is, the only way I feel better is if I'm eating lot's of heavy foods (mainly carbs). I am already overweight and I am hoping to try not to gain too much this pregnancy but at the rate I'm going I'll be up 20 lbs by the end of the first trimester!

I was wondering if anyone who is struggling with nausea has found any healthy snacks that make them feel better?

TIA!!

Some suggestions that have worked for me.

Drinks: Peppermint or Lemon Tea, giner ale, really cold water

Snacks: Sugar free lollipops, low fat graham crackers w/natural peanut butter

"Better" carbs: whole grain toast, brown rice, veggie chips

Non -food: Sea Bands -  https://www.sea-band.com/

  • Carnation instant breakfast helped me in the mornings and I would alternate between a couple almonds and a couple crasins every 30 min or so. Sweet potatoes are good too.

I was thinking of picking up the carnation breakfast shakes today, I'll definitely have to try it! Thank you!

  • I'm in the same boat. I have been stretching out bites of a PB sandwich as snacks throughout the day. Protein makes me feel better but I often don't want anything but carbs. I do like light cheese sticks - they help, as well as bananas. Small snacking is helping but even with all my carbs, which I typically try to avoid, I haven't gained anything since I can't stomach a lot of my normal favorite foods and I want nothing to do with sweets! Good Luck!
  • What everyone else said.  Also - there is another thread (running..) that mentions how exercise might help with m/s.  I can't said whether its true or not, but might be worth it to fit some in if you're not already.  I'm trying to make an effort to go even though I'm exhausted from breathing. :P

I saw that thread, and at this point I am defnitely willing to try anything! And I hear ya on the exhaustion... It's been my excuse for not working out but I think I really need to start! I'm hoping it works!
