::hangs head in shame::
I had one last year & I know they're no big deal...but I am putting it off BIG TIME. They do them free at work, so all it takes is a phone call to infection control, but I can't bring myself to make the call.
I'm such a wuss.
Re: I am afraid of the flu shot.
Hmmmm when was the last time you had the flu - full blown flu? For me, ever since that episode a few years ago, I don't skip that shot!
(My fever got so high that I started getting paranoid and delusional, and was convinced I was going to die. I made my DH come in every 15 minutes and make sure I was still breathing)
Compared to what my dh went through last year, a shot is much less painful! He was absolutely miserable for a week. My shot didn't even hurt this year. Usually it gets a littel sore and tender but I did fine. Make the appt!!
I've always felt this way about the tetanus shot. Luckily you usually only need that one ever 10 years!
I had it in 1999 and I remember every.fuking.second of it.
Good point and thanks. Calling.....
Hey Wendy - I just got mine today at 2 pm. Seriously didn't feel it.
I got the shot last year and still got the flu but T and M didn't get it, so I think it's worth it. Glad you made the call.

I had it 10 years ago and I missed a week of work. Even then, I never got a flu shot until I had kids. Ever since DD #1 was born, I don't miss it. Think of it the way I do ... if you get really sick with the flu, who is going to watch your kids? That's the only reason I get the shot.
DD gave me such a rash last year because I forced him to get it too. I was pg and DD was going to be born during flu season and couldn't get a shot. This year, I told him he's welcome to take his chances and I'm sure he won't do it but if he gets sick, I won't be taking off work.
