Hi Ladies,
My DS (19 weeks) STTN in his nap-nanny on the floor next to our bed. He currently naps in the crib for about 45 minutes at a time. We've tried to transition to the crib and he moves around so much he ends up the wrong direction with feet and arms through bars. I was wondering what your experience was with the Merlin Sleep Suit and whether it was a good idea to try one just to get him into the crib. I'm hesitant because right now he only sleeps in his PJs and I don't want to introduce something else that I'll have to wean him from later.
Anyone have experience with late introduction of the sleep suit just to transition baby to crib?
Thanks!

I'm ok with this in theory except unfortunately his restlessness and getting stuck between the slats makes for a very unhappy and wide-awake baby whereas in the nap-nanny he sleeps between 8 and 10 hours per night.
All babies go through that stage. I might try a breathable crib bumper. At this age, I feel fine with them.
The suit might help for now, but you can't use it forever. DS got stuck in the slats up until the day I moved him to a bed. It wasn't that often, but it still happened.

I think I may try the breathable bumper! Thanks!
my lo is 4 months and we LOVE the merlin sleep suit. I got it in desperation to get my gal out of her swaddle/RNP and into he crib- we are on week 2 and it does the trick. I'm not too worried about weaning her from it, once she is rolling back and forth and her arms aren't in her face as much I just plan to put her in a sleep sack which gives almost the same effect.
In fear she will get to warm (I have a hot baby) I only put her in a onesies and then put her in the suit and she is fine at night. Money well spent to get her into the crib with out crying every night and whaling about!
I, too, was desperate to get DS out of the RNP and back not his crib. There really is something to this suit...it's like within minutes of me putting it on him he is asleep...before it if we ever put him in his crib he'd either wake right up or just play and not fall asleep. We are in week two...initially there was some regression from the RNP but last night he slept from 7:15-7 am straight, which he's never done before (longest in RNP was 8 hours only once). I really do think it is helping him. I will worry about weaning him from it later...for now I will take the sleep!
