Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

carrier

Now that LO is larger I was wondering what carrier do people use for their LO's? (We've never used one)  My little guy is 23-24 lbs. now.  I don't want my back to hurt, but it would be convenient to be able to hold him and have hands free. Especially now that are summer vacations are right around the corner.   Also, something that might last a while. I don't want to buy a potentially expensive piece of baby equipment that will only work for the next 3 months.

Thanks!

Re: carrier

  • The Ergo is awesome!  I think it goes up to 35 lbs.  I wear DD in it and she is about 22 lbs.  It's super comfy.  Once you start wearing you LO you will LOVE IT.  It is so convenient.

I am getting an Action Baby Carrier. It's lightweight for the warm weather, and has the lumbar strap like the ergo does.

  • I love our Ergo! I back carry our three yr old in it and it's super comfortable. I wouldn't wear him for hours and hours in it, but for a trip around the neighborhood or short hike, it's great. He's even known to fall asleep in it, so I think he loves it too:)

  • I have three different carriers, but I love ergo.

I still use it at times, but my babe wants to face out and look&wave. So we bought an I-angel hipseat carrier (i paid $89). It totally relieves my back pain while holding her (tho, I have to remind myself not to carry her for too long.)

Only one strap over my shoulder and babe can either look in or out. I think she prefers this than ergo, cuz she feel all grown up (without heavy straps and things)

We plan to use this hipseat while we are on the plane. She will be a lap-baby and this hipseat will maintain her sitting position. She tends to sit longer than on my lap or hub.

If I had to do it all over again, i may just buy 4 season hipseat carrier....which looks like an ergo, plus with a seat.

I love my ABC.  I got the toddler version so I can use it for a long time still.  My 20-month old is great in it, as is my 2-year old nephew.

  • I use the Ergo and love it!  Cordelia is 15 months old and she prefers it over a stroller.
