  • My baby goes about every 2 days or so. He is 2 months. This week he was having trouble going so I called his pediatrician. She told me to give him 1 oz of apple juice every 24 hrs until he goes! The apple juice worked like a charm!
  • Our Dr also recommended an oz of apple juice if things weren't moving along. My LO goes about 2 days then starts to get really uncomfortable and fussy. Usually with in an hour of the juice she get relief! Good Luck

My 9 week old is also going days between pooping. My doctor told us that for EBF babies this is completely normal. It means that their digestive track is taking in more of the nutrient from the breastmilk, and therefore is excreting less waste. It is especially common in infants from the ages of 4-8 weeks. You should only be concerned if your LO appears to be in pain, or has not passed a stool in a 7-10 day period.
  • I was told by my doc that I should be concerned if LO goes 7 days without pooping.
